10 February is the last date you can sign up for the CISA, CISM or CGEIT exam on 12 June at a discount. The final signup date is 7 April. CISA and CISM are useful additions to the CISSP as they cover material that the CISSP is weak in (for example, for CISA you will learn more about audit and controls than the CISSP covers). The CISA and CISM courses offered through your local ISACA chapters are a good way to study for the exams (you also need the books and CD offered by www.isaca.org) and generally quite inexpensive (free through the Silicon Valley chapter if you attend all of the classes, $100 otherwise). If you have the experience requirement for CISSP, you have the requirement for CISA. CISM requires 5 years management experience (although ISACA’s definition of management experience surprised me, check with them if you are in doubt). CGEIT is new and I am not sure how many local chapters will offer a course on this. A group out of ISACA San Francisco and Silicon Valley did run a free online CGEIT course last year. If you are interested I can get you in touch with them. Note the 5 year governance requirement for CGEIT. I recommend these certifications, however the CISSP is more important for most people.
